4811 Mckean Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19144

Property Description

Here's your chance to put your stamp on a classic Northwest Philadelphia stone twin home West Germantown. 4811 McKean Avenue has the bones that buyers dream about: original hardwood floors throughout, a wood-burning fireplace, cast iron radiators and the kind of solid stone construction you can't find anymore. This house has character in every corner, and it's ready for someone with a vision to bring it back to life. The first floor flows through an enclosed front porch, a perfect mudroom to a generous living room through to a dining room and into the kitchen with rear access to the back deck. Upstairs you'll find three bedrooms, each with good natural light, ceiling fans, and those original wood floors waiting to be refinished. The house needs some love but the potential is there. Cosmetic updates are needed throughout, and you'll want to budget accordingly. But the house is largely intact and livable while you work, which is increasingly rare at this price point in this neighborhood. The location is hard to beat. You're a short walk from Fernhill Park, close to Wayne Junction for regional rail, and have easy access to Route 1 and I-76 for getting around the city and beyond. Properties like this one — with this much original detail still intact — don't stay available for long.Bring your contractor and your imagination. The hard part is already there.
